πPrivacy Policy
Last updated: April 22, 2026
The short version: USATrivia.us does not collect, store, or sell your personal information. We are a free trivia game, nothing more.
1. Who We Are
USATrivia.us is a free online trivia game focused on American history, geography, civics, and culture. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you visit and use our website. By using the site, you agree to the practices described below.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not require you to create an account or log in to play our trivia games. We do not ask for, collect, or store your name, email address, physical address, phone number, or any other directly identifying personal information as a condition of playing.
3. Information Stored Locally in Your Browser
Your game statistics, scores, streaks, achievements, and preferences are stored in your web browser's localStorage on your own device. This information never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party. You can clear this data at any time using the Reset Stats option inside the Settings menu, or by clearing your browser's site data.
4. Feedback Form
If you choose to submit feedback through our feedback form, you may optionally provide your name and email address so we can respond. This information is used only to reply to your message and is never shared with, sold to, or rented to third parties. If you leave the name and email fields blank, your feedback is entirely anonymous.
5. Classroom Mode and Multiplayer
Our Classroom Mode uses Google Firebase to support live multiplayer gameplay. When you host or join a classroom game, a temporary room code and the names or avatars you select are shared with other players in your session. These records are transient and are not tied to any long-term identifier.
6. Advertising (Google AdSense)
USATrivia.us uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can opt out of personalized advertising at any time by visiting adssettings.google.com.
7. Cookies
We do not set first-party cookies ourselves. Our advertising partner Google AdSense may set cookies on your device as described above. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
8. Third-Party Services
Our site relies on a small number of third-party services to function:
- Google AdSense β for displaying advertisements that keep the site free.
- Google Fonts β for typography. Google may log IP addresses for font delivery.
- Google Firebase β for Classroom Mode multiplayer sessions.
- Cloudflare β for content delivery and email obfuscation.
9. Children's Privacy
USATrivia.us is intended for a general audience, including families, students, and educators. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian believes their child has sent personal information through our feedback form, they may contact us to request deletion.
10. California and EU Residents
Because we do not collect personal information to begin with, most specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) do not apply to routine gameplay. You always have the right to request information about any data you have submitted to us through the feedback form and to request its deletion.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted where practical.
12. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, please use the contact page or the in-game feedback form.
